Kai Shun Tim Malzer Kamagata 3-piece Knife Set + Roll Bag

The team of MyChefKnives present you in exclusivity the Kai Shun Tim Malzer Kamagata 3-piece knife bag set. Each of the knives in this set is effective, ergonomic, and ideal for daily use. They are perfect for chefs as well as for hobby cooks who want knives that are easy to handle and that are able to make precise cuts.

It is important to mention that all the knives from the Kai Shun Kamagata series were created in collaboration with the renowned German chef Tim Malzer. This is not the first time that Tim Malzer and Kai join forces to create a knife range, as tey have already developed other series that were and continue to be successful.

Content of the set:

– 1 paring knife 9cm: a model  recommended for cutting small fruits and vegetables. It cuts with excellent precision; it is a must-have in every kitchen.

– 1 utility knife 15cm: it has the same function as a paring knife but for bigger sized fruits and vegetables. You can also use it for cutting boneless meats. Thanks to its size, it is a very handy and polyvalent knife.

– 1 santoku knife 18cm: it is a Japanese-style model that is the equivalent of a “chef knife” in Western cutlery. Its slightly round blade creates a pendulum effect that enables an optimal balance for your cuts.

The blade:

Each of these kitchen knives has a blade made of 1.4116 stainless steel with a satin finish. This type of steel has 14.8% of chromium content, which is an important element for making the blade resistant to corrosion. Moreover, with a hardness level of 57/58 HRC in the Rockwell scale, the blade is easy to sharpen and maintain.

What makes the blades of thes knives truly original is their round, curved shape. This type of shape was designed by Tim Malzer, who had the chance to go to Japan and see blades with a similar design. He noticed that this shape allows the blade to be easier to handle during every cut. In fact, the name of the knife range Kamagata is a Japanese term that means “in the shape of a sickle”.

The handle:

It is made of black POM, which is a robust and lightweight synthetic material appreciated by cooks for its great durability. Furthermore, it is resistant to strokes and changes in temperature. Its ergonomic design fits perfectly in your hand, regardless of whether you are a right or left handed cook.

Maintenance of the knives:

The knives included in this set must always be washed by hand with a mild soap and a non-abrasive sponge. After washing them, you can dry them inmediately with a soft cloth, and store them in a dry place free of all humidity.

The roll bag:

It is made of a synthetic material (grey in the outside and black in the inside). This bag has 7 indidvidual slots where you can store your favourite kitchen knives and utensils. Each slot has an elastic net where you can insert the handle of your knives and utensils. In addition, there is an internal flap that covers the blades of your knives for more security against scratches.

The bag can be securily closed by rolling it and attaching both of its frontal clips. Moreover, it has a reinforced handle that you can use to easily carry the bag in your hand as if it was a briefcase. For more comfort, it also comes with a removable shoulder strap that you can use to hang it around your shoulder and thus carry your bag without using your hands.
